1st Little Stoke Scout Group - serving up formative fun since 1952!

The Scout group offers a wide range of activities for both boys and girls aged 6 to 14 years. The 1st Little Stoke Scout Group is part of the Brunel Scout District covering North East Bristol (http://www.brunelscouts.org.uk/). The Group is currently running 2 Beaver Scout Colonies, a Cub Scout Pack, and a Scout Troop, with approximately 80 young people currently involved in Scouting. The activities range from model making and cooking to hiking and field craft, from information technology to more adventurous activities that include gliding, canoeing and sailing. The Group regularly gets involved with other groups be it anything from junk modelling competitions to international jamboree camps. Scouts develop friendships which last, and able to try things they would otherwise never have the chance to do, in a safe controlled environment, while having fun. They are supported by well qualified and experienced Leaders. Similarly the adult Leaders get opportunities to have fun, make friends and develop their skills as part of training and development, ensuring they can safely lead the activities.

It's fun being involved in the big adventure. Adult volunteers are always in high demand and very welcome indeed. Due to limited spaces, the group currently manages a waiting list for young people wishing to join.

In order to join the waiting list, we ask that parents contact our waiting list manager,
Shaun Smith, on 01454 614801. Though Shaun manages our w
aiting list, parents will be contacted by the relevant age group Section Leader when openings do become available.
Note that the group do allow young people to forego the waiting list, if their parents are willing to join the group as volunteers with reasonable regular commitment as well. A
dults wishing to volunteer as a leader or assistant should contact our Group Scout Leader, Michael Edwards-Jones (michael.edwards-jones@avonscouts.org.uk or 01454 618789).
